New York, New York – Feb, 2012 annually produced by Adirée, Africa Fashion Week in New York (AFWNY) showcases luxury and mass African-owned fashion brands through runway shows, exhibitions- and now videos.
In anticipation for AFWNY 2012 (July 12 -18), every month beginning January 2012, Adirée will release individual designer videos from 2011’s showcase of Africa Fashion Week in New York. Fikirte Addis AFWNY 2011 designer video is below, in addition to the previous launched designer videos:

Designers who showcased during AFWNY 2011 represented various countries in Africa and note- you’ll see many designers from Africa creatively highlighting their cultural within their designs-with or without the use of African prints.
Fikirte from Ethiopia is renowned for utilizing the most sophisticated Ethiopian traditional fabrics to create modern and luxurious clothing, known as YEFIKIR. She relates everyday wear merging modernity, culture and nature’s touch. Her showcase date was Friday, July 15, 2011.
