Nigeria’s Young Entrepreneur Adiat Disu, Director of Africa Fashion Week on CNN International

New York (CNN) : CNN  International ‘s crew, including its host Isha Sesay followed the team behind Africa Fashion Week, leading up to the main event. The event included 30 designers, 3 days of runway shows.  In our second year, the show became a staple in New York’s scene, garnering the support and proclamation of former Mayor of New York, Mayor Bloomberg. Celebrities such as Reality Show Celebrities of Bravo Hit Series “Real House Wives, Marqus Huston, Tyson Beckford, celebrity stylist Ugo Mozi were in attendance. CNN created a three-part video sequence including interviews and footage of  Africa, US,  UK -based designers, models and the Director Ms. Adiat Disu. In addition, an article reviewing the event was released. Africa Fashion On Parade in New York 

Now in its second year, the show, is already an established event. Between July 11 and July 17, fashion elites from across the African continent converged on New York to showcase their distinctive styles and talents.

“Many of these designers, of course, they’re big in Africa,” said founder Adiat Disu. “But people need to hear and see what is going on in Africa without having to travel there.

“We understand that not everyone can go to Africa. There’s nothing wrong with bringing Africa to them, to their backyard.”
