AFWNY, a luxury multi-day event produced by Adir\u00e9e, will take place at the Broad Street Ballroom on July 12th<\/sup>, 13th<\/sup>, 14th in New York City\u2019s financial District.<\/p>\n

Currently the national president of the Young creatives<\/em> in Cameroon, 29-year-old Cameroonian fashion designer Augustine Kouidou\u2019s fashion brand Nakuin <\/em>employs unique pieces consisting of florals infused satin fabrics, silks, lace, and sequin appliqu\u00e9s matched and conjoined to harmoniously create intricate pieces. Nakuin produces clothing for the bold, audacious and playful woman aiming to woo African, European, and American markets with the bold, floral intricate of her work. It radiates elegance, refinement, and a pinch of simplicity just enough to accentuate the feminine curves. Not one garment is fashioned to resemble the other, all clothing are highly distinguishable!<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I prepare a collection, I want it to be accessible to all, I want local Cameroonian designers to be respected, especially in their own country, so I make a point to offer quality training to other young designers and aspiring fashion industry professionals.\u201d<\/em>-Augustine Kouidou<\/p>\n

AFWNY includes runway shows hosting 21+ designers from various countries in Africa and those of the African Diaspora, exhibitions, and industry networking events. Opening designers Francis Hendy, Korto Momolu, and designers like Mafi, Attolle Collection, Geraldo Fashions and others will showcase.<\/p>\n
