New York, New York<\/strong> -Tuesday, June 12-\u00a0 Adiat Disu of Adiree PR,<\/a> the producers of Africa Fashion Week spoke at the United Nations 799 UN Plaza New York, NY 10017, to women delegates from\u00a0 various African countries within the sector sub group of textiles and trade.\u00a0<\/div>\n

The U.S. Department of State\u00a0 is hosting its third annual Africa Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (AWEP) will kick-off its international exchange component in New York on June 4. Leading off the program, fashion designer, philanthropist and Chairman\/Founder of DVF Studio LP, Diane von Furstenberg will participate in a conversation with the women, who hail from the fashion and textile industry, agribusiness, and home d\u00e9cor.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Following the program opening, they will split into sector specific groups to connect with their American counterparts, including\u00a0 Adiree PR, Anthropologie, Cristina Dos Santos Design, Decoration and Design Building, Global Table, Hunts Point Market, Indego Africa, Organic Shea Butter, and Tory Burch LLC.<\/div>\n

“I am humbled to have been selected to speak to and touch the lives of African Women Delegates at the United Nations today, during the African Women Entrepreneurship Program, amongst great fashion figures like Diane von F\u00fcrstenberg<\/a> and many others.<\/div>\n

I am also grateful to organizations such as USAID\/Origin Africa\u00a0<\/a> who we partner with to push and facilitate fashion-related business between Africa and the US.<\/div>\n
Many of these women have what it takes to drive their businesses internationally, let alone be the driving force behind both economies (United States and Africa).<\/div>\n
