In fact, many fashion labels (especially those influenced or started by African Designers) seem to gravitate towards that direction.However, the fashion brand Nike Oyelami Ekineyo makes bold claims of the opposite truth, via a collection of minimal skirts and dresses, using &#8216;African accents.&#8217; Inspired by soft colors and the beauty of minimalism, this rising fashion brand has been seen on celebrities like Jill Scott and \u00a0Tamar Braxton.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #444444;\">The Brooklyn based, part Nigerian, African fashion designer Oyelami has a full line of printed and solid basics, pieces that can be mixed and matched, and edgy feminine clothing to fit your stylish needs. \u00a0One of her body-con dresses, named &#8220;Babe&#8221; \u00a0seems to be the crowd fav, the chief, out of her collection.<\/span>&#8216;Babe&#8217; has been seen on celebrities such as Nicole Ari Parker and Tika Sumpter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Spring 2011 and summer 2011 collections celebrated \u00a0feminine silhouettes with graphic prints on skirts, cropped and fringed tops. Ekineyo&#8217;s fall collection, \u201cColor in Transition\u201d presented us with the color-blocking trend in dresses, jackets, and body con dresses. \u00a0The intricacy of her designs are featured in details such as fringes, sheer panels, and draping.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Other elements of her design that stood out to us, were the strategically placed Geometric shapes on the silhouettes of dresses and pant\/top combos. \u00a0Adding flair to Ekineyo&#8217;s pant and top combos&#8211;perfect for those a la mod moments&#8211;were the dark indigo and midnight blues.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Hands down, we would sacrifice our wallets for her collection as long as we can be a part of the clan that wear her \u00a0flattering pieces, fit to vogue.
