Garbage. We mean. Garage Magazine Editor Dasha Zhukova Sits On A Black Woman Bondage Chair

Because of Martin Luther King we are able to be who we are today; sitting, thinking, planning, and executing our visions and dreams for a better tomorrow.

Unfortunately we are constantly interrupted by the reality of  racial insensitivity, within the fashion world– let alone the entire world.

Today ( keep in mind on MLK day), Miroslava Duma’s new online magazine Buro 247  launched an article on Russian socialite Dasha Zhukova.  The article was accompanied by an image of Zhukova sitting on a ‘black woman’ chair.

As the African Fashion and Beauty industry continues to grow locally and internationally; spotlighting the various definitions of beauty, empowering women of all races to regard themselves with dignity, and provide a platform to display black women in a positive light, unfortunately we are reminded that there are opposing and oppressive forces that sit heavily on our mission.

The Editor-in-Chief of Garage magazine sits on her throne– a black ‘dummy,’ (a fake human) who is nude  with  pantie, barely covering. The compromised black woman, in  Jezebel-implicit attire and posture has  a garter belt, elbow length gloves, and knee high boots on as her knees were folded against her naked breasts .

Zhukova, sitting calmly – almost regal- on top of the black ‘dummy’.

Again, a clear depiction and reminder of opposing and oppressive forces that sit heavily on our mission of promoting the beauty that is women,  black, and/or  Africa.
